[NOVAC announcement] 2020 Outreach Report

Good evening NOVAC,

Attached is a copy of our 2020 Outreach Report that I presented during our
meeting earlier tonight.  A big thank you to all the members who
volunteered last year to assist with outreach events, both in-person and
virtually.

We hope the eventual proliferation of the COVID-19 vaccine will allow
spring and summer 2021 to be a more welcoming environment to conduct
in-person outreach.  Until then, we could use the help of members who can
give virtual presentations or have equipment to show objects in-person
through a screen.  Look out for these kinds of opportunities in the coming
months.

To improve the assessment of NOVAC's outreach efforts going forward, I
encourage members to let me know if you are:

1) Participating in the NOVAC-hosted outreach event at Crockett or Great
Meadow (this includes our monthly public nights, Astronomy Day, and
Stargaze).

2) Participating in an outreach event hosted by an external organization.
This includes organizations I typically listed in my weekly outreach
announcements like Sky Meadows State Park, local schools, other parks,
libraries, museums, and non-profits.

3) Participating in informal neighborhood sidewalk outreach.  I'm aware
some of you conduct outreach in your own neighborhoods or high traffic
areas like shopping districts. I would like to hear about these efforts.
Simply send me your name and the date and location where you did the
outreach.

Finally, if you're currently not receiving my weekly outreach announcements
but want to receive them, please send me your email address.
