Folks, we received this email from Laura Rann at James River State Park
down in southern VA. NOVAC assisted them to get their IDA Dark-Sky Park
designation.

I've not been down to the park myself, but clearly they are interested in
continuing to welcome us there either as guests or as visiting astronomers
who can share the sky with others. Would someone be willing to coordinate
a such a trip with the park if a group is interested in going down?

President, NOVAC

Greetings NOVAC members,

I would like to invite you and your fellow astronomers to take a field
trip to visit us sometime later this summer or fall. As you know,
James River State Park was named an International Dark Sky Park last
spring by the International Dark-Sky Association. We highly value
this designation and want to share it with park guests... having guest
astronomers present to talk about the night sky is an essential part
of this effort.

We can usually provide campsites and electricity to our Skywatch
volunteers if given enough notice.

Please let me know if you would be interested in coming down and
seeing the park and facilities. I would be happy to show you around,
and will point out where we usually set up the telescopes. NOVAC was
a big help to us in getting the Dark Sky designation, we want the
membership to come enjoy the views!

Please pass this invitation on to any interested fellow astronomers that
might like to take part.

Thank you!
